This Privacy Policy describes how Prayer Pair ("Prayer Pair," "we," "our," or "us"), operated by Gellert Haraszti, collects, uses, and discloses your personal information when you use the Prayer Pair mobile app and related services (the "Service"). It also describes your rights and choices regarding your personal information.

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide Directly

• Account Information. When you sign up, we collect your name and email address. You may sign in using your Apple ID or Google account, in which case we receive basic profile information from those providers.
• Profile Information. You may optionally provide a profile photo, a short bio, your faith journey, and your city and state.
• Prayer Requests. You submit prayer requests that include a category and a written description. These are shared with your matched prayer partner.
• Partner Messages. You may exchange messages with your prayer partner through the in-app chat. These messages are stored in our database.
• Feature Requests. If you submit feature requests or comments through the in-app board, those are stored and associated with your account.

Information We Collect Automatically

• Usage Data. We collect information about how you interact with the app, such as which onboarding screens you view, whether you complete prayer sessions, and your prayer streak. This is collected via PostHog, our analytics provider.
• Device Token. When you grant notification permissions, we collect your device's push notification token (APNs) to deliver prayer reminders and partner notifications.
• Session Data. We log prayer session activity, including when you confirm prayer and timestamps for session events.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Operate the Service, including matching you with a daily prayer partner and enabling in-app messaging
• Display your profile to your matched prayer partner
• Send push notifications for prayer reminders and partner activity
• Manage your subscription and process payments via the Apple App Store
• Analyze and improve the onboarding experience and app features
• Respond to your support requests
• Enforce our Terms of Service and comply with applicable law

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as described below.

• Your Prayer Partner. Your name, profile photo, bio, faith journey, location (city/state), and prayer request details are visible to your matched daily prayer partner.
• Service Providers. We use third-party providers to operate the Service:
  • Supabase — database, authentication, and backend infrastructure
  • PostHog — product analytics
  • Superwall — subscription paywall management
  • Apple App Store / StoreKit — in-app purchase processing
  • Apple Push Notification service (APNs) — push notification delivery
  • Google Sign-In / Apple Sign-In — authentication
• Legal Requirements. We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Prayer Pair, our users, or others.
• Business Transfers. If Prayer Pair is acquired or its assets are transferred, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

These providers access your data only as necessary to perform services on our behalf and are subject to confidentiality obligations.

4. Sensitive Information

Prayer Pair handles information about your religious beliefs and faith practice, which is considered sensitive personal information in many jurisdictions. We use this information solely to provide the Service — to match you with a compatible prayer partner and facilitate your prayer experience. We do not use it for advertising or sell it to third parties.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within a reasonable time, except where we are required to retain it by law.

6. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including using Supabase's Row Level Security policies to ensure users can only access data they are authorized to see. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

8. International Users

Prayer Pair is operated by an individual based in Hungary and the Service is primarily directed at users in the United States and Canada. Your information is stored and processed on servers located in the United States. By using the Service, you acknowledge that your information is transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, you may have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or equivalent laws, including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data. 9. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate personal information
• Delete your account and personal data
• Object to or restrict certain processing activities
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

10. Push Notifications

You can opt out of push notifications at any time by adjusting your device's notification settings or through the app's notification preferences screen. Note that disabling notifications may affect your ability to receive timely prayer partner alerts.

11. Third-Party Services

The Service uses Apple Sign-In, Google Sign-In, and the Apple App Store for subscription management. These third parties have their own privacy policies governing how they handle your information. We encourage you to review them.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the effective date at the top of this page or through in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
