Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using the Prayer Pair app.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Prayer Pair (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The Service is operated by Gellert Haraszti ("Prayer Pair," "we," "our," or "us"). These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Prayer Pair.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement. If you are between 13 and 17 years old, you may only use the Service with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

3. Account Registration

To use Prayer Pair, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and truthful information during registration
• Keep your login credentials secure and confidential
• Notify us promptly at info@prayerpair.app if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
• Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information or violate these Terms.

4. The Service

Prayer Pair is a daily prayer partner matching app. It matches you with another user each day so you can share prayer requests and pray for one another. The Service includes:

• Daily prayer partner matching
• In-app messaging with your prayer partner
• Prayer request submission and tracking
• Guided prayer sessions
• Prayer history and streak tracking
• A community feature request board

Prayer Pair is a spiritual support tool and is not a substitute for pastoral counseling, mental health services, or medical care.

5. User Content

You retain ownership of content you submit to the Service ("User Content"), including prayer requests, messages, profile information, and feature request posts.

By submitting User Content, you grant Prayer Pair a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, and display that content as necessary to operate the Service.

You are solely responsible for your User Content. You agree not to submit content that:

• Is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, or harassing
• Infringes any third party's intellectual property or privacy rights
• Contains spam, malware, or other harmful code
• Is false or misleading

6. Privacy and Shared Content

Because Prayer Pair is built around partner matching, certain information you provide — including your name, profile photo, bio, faith journey, city/state, and prayer request details — will be visible to your matched daily prayer partner.

Please only share information you are comfortable sharing with another user. Do not include highly sensitive personal information (such as financial details or passwords) in prayer requests or messages.

7. Subscriptions and Billing

Access to certain features of Prayer Pair requires a paid subscription. Subscriptions are managed and billed through the Apple App Store.

• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple App Store account settings.
• We do not process payments directly; all billing is handled by Apple under their terms.
• Refunds are subject to Apple's refund policies.

8. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Attempt to access another user's account or data
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of the app
• Use the Service to send unsolicited messages or spam
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service's infrastructure
• Use the Service to spread content that is hateful, violent, or sexually explicit

9. Reporting and Blocking

If you believe another user is behaving in a harmful or inappropriate manner, you may report or block them within the app. We review reports and may take action including warnings, suspension, or termination of accounts that violate these Terms.

10. Intellectual Property

All rights in and to the Service (excluding User Content) are owned by Prayer Pair or its licensors. This includes the Prayer Pair name, logo, design, code, and content. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our prior written permission.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We disclaim all warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Prayer Pair and Gellert Haraszti shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service, including loss of data, loss of profits, or emotional distress, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or USD $100, whichever is greater.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it within the app or contacting us at info@prayerpair.app.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute resolution) will survive.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Because Prayer Pair is operated by an individual based in Hungary and directed at users in the United States and Canada, we encourage users to resolve disputes informally by contacting us first at info@prayerpair.app.

If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts applicable to the parties involved.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page or through in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
